At the age of 79, Elizabeth Taylor died today.
She is remembered through her unparalleled acting career and her tireless devotion to AIDS advocacy. She attached her face to a cause in desperate need of knowledge and research at a time when celebrities didn’t routinely do any work with charities.
She was also considered a style icon in her time. In the film Cleopatra she made 65 costume changes, helping the film to win one of its’ four 1963 Academy Awards for Best Costume Design.
To Elizabeth Taylor, the icon of a generation – parting is such sweet sorrow.
