Monday Mystery!

Happy Monday, blog friends! This week at SIA headquarters we are eagerly anticipating tomorrow’s opening night performance of The Diary of Anne Frank, as well as getting those final production tasks finished: programs, costume changes, etc. There’s a lot more to theatre than what happens onstage! In the next few weeks we’ll bring you some more information about the production team – the different people who work behind the scenes to make it all happen – as well as the process of designing and building a set.

But for now, it’s time for another Monday Mystery! Because this morning began grey and gloomy, here’s a quote from one of Shakespeare’s more depressing plays. It’s got love, jealousy, false friendships, revenge, and murder. What more could you want, really, to kick off your week?

O, beware, my lord, of jealousy!
It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock
The meat it feeds on.

So what do you think? What play is it from, and who said it? I’ll give you a hint: this character is famous for not meaning what he says.
