Watch Clips from the National Shakespeare Youth Festival!

Last year’s National Shakespeare Youth Festival was full of song, dance, and fun! In May 2010, we had the privilege of watching tons of amazing Ontario students interpret the Bard in their own ways. Students were encouraged to choose any Shakespeare play they liked. We saw singing, dancing, short scenes and duologues, and short films based on plays from Macbeth to The Taming of the Shrew.

We’re gearing up for the 2011 Youth Festival, so over the next month we’ll be posting videos from our fearless competitors, featuring their unique and creative interpretations of Shakespeare’s plays. First up we have this exciting version of King Lear, submitted by Toronto’s Gordon A. Brown Middle School! The video was created by students Aly Wakif, Anika Syeda, Ahsan Ullah, Neerajan Sritharan, Jake Ryan and Andrew Goudswaard. Great job!

For more information on this year’s festival, please see our website. Registration is now open for 2011!

  1. Hi, I was wondering if you could send me the link to this video, as it was removed by the user. I created it, and I cannot find it on my computer.
